Ahead of their May 9th boxing match in Las Vegas, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Canelo Alvarez tried out Knockout League, Grab Games VR Boxing title for the HTC Vive. Knockout League is a arcade style VR boxing game but its intuitive gameplay involves moving and dodging with your body and 1:1 punch movement that lets you attack how you want.
Alvarez and Chavez both took turns using the HTC Vive to take swings at a VR boxer on the Univision show Republica Deportiva. Canelo did seem a bit more comfortable while playing Knockout League, leading me to believe this is not his first time with an HTC Vive.
Personally I think that VR can go beyond gaming and actually be a great training tool for Boxing. My belief is that it would be a complementary tool for an MMA fighter that may be more skilled in things other than boxing.
