My reactions to playing Evasion on the Playstation VR during E3- "A Phenomenal game, A PHENOMENAL GAME! I've played it on the Vive and Vive Pro and playing it with the Aim Controller on the PSVR is the most satisfying version I have played.
These reactions along with other fans who played the game at E3 were captured and shared by the Evasion team at E3.
I have been ranting and raving about this n intense VR bullet hell game, designed to immerse players in high intensity co-op multiplayer combat for about a year and soo happy the team is getting the attention they deserve. http://www.catsandvr.com/blog/evasion
Several things of note on the E3 Demo.
1. Heavily featured by Playstation at E3 and the only Aim controller game showed.
2. The game looks amazing on PSVR and not to big of a drop from the Vive version.
3. THIS IS A MUST HAVE GAME IF YOU HAVE AN AIM CONTROLLER!
Evasion on PSVR is on par with any AAA Aim controller game including Farpoint and Doom VFR and I would go as far as saying it may be better in the end. Having played this game in several versions this was my first time going through a mission alone and it made for a VERY intense experience. The aim controller also felt very comfortable and made for an amazing arcade like experience. Look for Evasion coming to Vive, Vive Pro, and PSVR very soon.
Last October I had my first hands on with Archiact's upcoming bullet hell FPS Evasion. Evasion is an intense VR Bullet Hell game designed to immerse players in high intensity co-op multiplayer combat. Designed from the ground up as a VR FPS action game, Evasion has some of the best VR locomotion that I have encountered in a game.,
Heading to GDC 2018 I was very excited to see what improvements have made to the game. The latest demo showed off the Warden and Engineer class, implemented a new tutorial mode, and showcased new physics to the game. The biggest change was that this time I played the game in the Vive Pro. The resolution change has made things look vibrant. With the HTC Vive Pro, HTC has increased the resolution of the dual-OLED displays to 2880 x 1600. The rumored increase in resolution is said to be over 70%.
Playing Evasion in the Vive Pro was a great experience as the added resolution made for a much tighter and faster game play experience. This was my first time using a Vive Pro and the difference in resolution was dramatic. The additional pixel density increase allowed me to spend time looking at what my co-op partner was doing in the distance and in turn play more strategic.
Evasion has an excellent locomotion system and the frantic co-op gameplay never gave me any motion sickness or framerate drops. The demo I played was very polished both in art and gameplay and is an amazing showcase piece for the Vive Pro. If someone had said this was a Destiny VR prototype I would have believed them, instead this is a nice addition to the VR FPS landscape. I had a chance to learn more about the game at GDC when I chatted with Evasion's Senior Producer, Jennifer Dowding .
The Bay Area’s top eSports event, Intel ® Extreme Masters event is this weekend in Oakland, California and Intel is using the event to also push some of the VR content it has been promoting. While the Counter-Strike Global Offensive and Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds eSports tournaments unfold on stage, the intense sci-fi multiplayer FPS Evasion will be playable for the first time at the Bay Area.’
Starting November 18th, show attendees can experience the pre-alpha Evasion demo by visiting the Intel Gaming Showcase at the IEM Expo. Featuring spectacular visuals and free-move locomotion, Evasion has been designed from the ground up as the authentic FPS action game for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
Archiact currently has a technical partnership with Intel. During the show Intel will be using its 18 core i9 Multi-VM PCs for the Evasion demos, powering 4 players at once, a must-see for VR and PC gaming enthusiasts alike.
Every gamer who survives Evasion’s high intensity co-op multiplayer action will also receive an exclusive T-shirt and the chance to meet the game’s development team at the event. Whilst supplies last, show attendees can also claim an Evasion T-shirt via Twitter. Evasion is an intense VR bullet hell game, designed to immerse players in high intensity co-op multiplayer combat in the same vein as Destiny and Halo.
Announced today from the Archiact development team in Vancouver BC, Evasion is looking to deliver cinematic destructible environments and intense bullet hell action with an AI enemy
behavior system designed to make tactical movement and teamwork critical to your squad’s survival.
“Archiact has been crafting immersive VR entertainment since 2013,” said Kurt Busch, Studio Head at Archiact. “With Evasion, the team is using everything we’ve learned and weaving our experience into a truly genre-defining AAA title. With innovative locomotive movement and intense FPS gameplay, we’re convinced Evasion will prove a stand-out VR experience and we can’t wait for gamers to play it themselves.”
I had some hands on time with Evasion at a recent event and though the team seem to be looking to conjure Destiny with the art style it also does an excellent job of creating the level of gameplay that is known from that franchise. Evasion has an excellent locomotion system and the frantic co-op gameplay never gave me any motion sickness or framerate drops. The demo I played was very polished both in art and gameplay. If someone had said this was a Destiny VR prototype I would have believed them, instead this is a nice addition to the VR FPS landscape by a ragtag Vancouver team. I had a chance to learn more about the game when I chatted with Evasion's Senior Producer, Jennifer Dowding .
From compelling mission objectives, to powerful player class combinations and blockbuster-quality FX and destruction, Evasion is looking to more than hold its on the the VR FPS battleground.
