AR shopping tool PointShop wins TechCrunch Disrupt SF Hackathon
The Hackathon was part of the start of this years TechCrunch Disrupt SF and was won by PointShop.space. The app utilizes augmented reality with the aim of helping consumers better understand what they’re looking at before a purchase by simply lining up a phone camera with a real world product.
The two person team of Yosun Chang and Anuj Agrawal, demoed the hack working on an iPhone during Disrupt.
Chang told TechCrunch "“People like to buy random things that they see, We were thinking originally what if you can use reality as your primary key — usually a primary key is a string or an integer somewhere but what if it’s the objects? And every object is made by a company that’s probably in CrunchBase.”
